Hippo Hands, Ultimate Comfort & Protection.

Hippo Hands are handlebar covers designed and made in the USA, by Motorcycle lovers. Developed from one mans concept after a gruelling, bitterly cold bike ride.

I have been using them since May 2019 on various motorcycles and mopeds I have been reviewing, and they prove themselves time after time, ride after ride. The company currently has three designs, explained later in this review. I was sent the Alcan pair and although designed for Adventure bikes which I originally owned (KTM 1290 SA] when I spoke to Drew for advice, I found them very versatile and adaptable. I now have them on my BMW R 1250 RT and they fit just as well. As I mentioned during the period to date I have fitted them to several different motorcycles and mopeds because the British weather is horrendous and even a summers day can be as cold as ( a witch’s tit) as we say in England. That is cold by the way, in the 20s Fht.

I commute and test bikes and keeping warm is a massive requirement which Hippo Hands deliver on. They are easy to fit and as I say adaptable to all, types of machines. See the images. A Kymco Xciting 400 Maxi Scooter, A KTM 1290 SA, Triumph Tiger 1200 and a few more I forgot to take photos of, due to jumping off the bikes and needing to get inside to warm the rest of me up.

The handguards also offer protection from muck and debris off the road and with the reflective strips shining brightly, extra visibility is provided.

Hippo Hands are developing new Hand Guards including one to fit the Ducati Multistrada Adventure bike, and a secret one that Drew is sending me soon to test. So watch this space for updates and photos.

The Alcan is a maximum coverage, all-weather hand cover that fits adventure bikes, sport touring bikes, and many others. Built for the GS, but fits numerous ADV bikes and Sport tourers. The Alcan is the ultimate hand cover for cold weather riders and all-weather tourers. It offers a generous hand opening that stays open at highway speeds. They are designed to be fitted over brush/handguards.

The Rogue model is an amazingly versatile, mid-sized hand cover. It provides all-weather coverage, fits all adventure and sport touring bikes, as well as some scooters, and other bikes. It offers a large hand opening that stays open at highway speeds and they are designed to be fitted over the top of brush/hand guards. You can choose this model in all black, or black with 3M reflective.

Our Back Country model is designed for riders who stand and ride (dirt bikers, enduro riders, commuters) but these hand covers are applicable to just about any bike. It is our smallest, most easily adaptable hand cover

I love these Hippo Hands and will fit them to all the future machines I ride, regardless of what the weather is like. For safety and comfort, you need a pair.
