Nissan Qashqai
When it comes to family SUVs, it all began with the original Nissan Qashqai, at least in terms of mainstream success. It’s more than a decade on from that time, but Nissan is still making new iterations of the Qashqai and we’re here today to talk about the brand new version. Can the Qashqai still compete with the other cars in the family SUV market? Does it still deserve your attention and your hard-earned cash? It’s time to find out.
Driving Experience
The driving experience offered by the Nissan Qashqai is very impressive. The engine is solid and offers a nice smooth acceleration. The smaller steel wheels offer the best in terms of comfort and ride quality, making it a joy control. The handling is soft and the vibration is pretty low, so all in all you can expect a very good driving experience from the new Qashqai.
Interior and Boot Space
The interior feels strong and although it might not be an industry leader in this regard, it still offers a lot in terms of quality. It certainly doesn’t feel cheap inside and that’s one of the most important things of all. The sat nav and infotainment systems are good, as are the parking sensors and camera. It comes with all the tech you need and the seats are comfortable across the board. In terms of boot space, there’s plenty to work with but not quite as much as in an SUV such as the Skoda Karoq.
The Price
The New Nissan Qashqai is available in a number of iterations and versions. The most basic model is very affordable but if you’re looking for something that comes with all the extras, it becomes a bit more pricey compared to other SUVs on the market. But you could certainly argue that you get plenty for your money when you choose the Qashqai.
Versions and Specs
The 1.3 DiG-T Visia 5dr is the entry level version of the new Qashqai and probably the best option offering the most value for money out of the lot. It offers 140 bhp, manual gears and does 41.5 miles per gallon. At the top end is the 1.7 dCi Tekna+ 5dr 4WD CVT. It costs around £10,000 more than the entry level model.
Is it Worth Your Money?
When it comes to SUV cars for families, the Nissan Qashqai still stands out as one of the best. It might not be as standout or as dominant in this field as it once was, but there’s still a lot to like about it and it can still offer you value for your money.
It’s clear that the new Nissan Qashqai has a lot to offer. If you’re looking for a strong SUV that’s both stylish and enjoyable to drive, there aren’t many better vehicles out there than this one. It does what you need it to and the price you’ll pay for it is pretty far as well. Maybe it’s the car you’ve been looking for.
