Do you Nod, Hand up or Ignore?

This maybe controversial, but whilst riding yesterday across Hampshire and Sussex, I noticed some riders acknowledged me, while others are damn right rude. In my opinion

I appreciate in certain circumstances a hand wave, nod , thumbs up or the trendy leg-out can not be given. Braking down approaching a roundabout, junctions, overtaking when we bloody can now and similar situations. But on a straight road at relatively low speeds it is courteous to respond to my nod or I get the hump.

I was fortunate to be riding the Harley-Davidson Low Rider S to review it for this site. It got me thinking do other bikers only acknowledge bikers on certain makes? I passed two other Harley riders in Worthing and we smiled while stopped at the lights, thumbs up and almost stopped to hug each other. It was fabulous to be out riding even though I was fing freezing.

I encountered all makes on my journey east and return west, BMW Adventure bikes, some Italian Stallions and many Japanese bikes. You can see it bugs me, because it has got me writing this piece a day after my ride. For a few minutes after each non-exchange I ask why they didn ‘t take a split second to tip their head etc? Does it annoy you? Do you not acknowledge and if so why not?

Do you dislike certain bike makes? Although head on it is difficult to ascertain some makes before you have committed to a nod.

But I always do regardless of make and model, ( when safe to do so and at the speed limit for the road. , disclaimer).
