Vertical takeoff in your own Volante Vision from Aston Martin.

When #AstonMartin announced the #AM37 #Speedboat I said to @AndyatAston the company would conquer land, sea, and air. The marque have announced today the #VolanteVision aircraft in alliance with #RollsRoyce. A three seater #VTOL aircraft powered by electric hybrid engines.

Three propellers driven by electric hybrid motors will enable the aircraft to take off vertically, and land the same. Thus no runway is required.

The latest materials will be used to make the aircraft ultra light. Three seats, with a one then two configuration. Estimated price is £3 million.

The pilot will be able to fly this aircraft like a drone, with superb maneuverability and the latest in digital instrumentation.

I am already asking Dr Andy Palmer the CEO of Aston Martin Lagonda if I can have a flight in one.

Not sure when a production version will be available as it is still a concept at the moment but knowing the marque it won't take them long to manufacture the first prototype

Is this why they bought St Athan previously an RAF base?  I think it must have been one reason.
